Handmade Arts and crafts from recycled materials.
“We throw away so much these days”
We create handicrafts and artwork from recycled metal, wood, plastic and glass. Rusty Fish gets most of it’s materials from the municipal dump. Metal cleaned, beaten flat and hand cut, painted with vivid acrylics and enamels and each piece is varnished. The old metal is given a new lease of life and a beauty it has never known before. It is a labor of love, and each piece carries with it that love. It is my wish to encourage giving and love between people.
To some a ‘Rusty Fish’ may simply be cool artwork but behind the scenes it is providing much needed employment to a very poor community. It provides training and jobs where they are really needed, it’s giving a meaning and purpose to many people’s lives and is communicating an important message to Roatan and the world. To reuse and respect the cycle. Recycle!

“I truly feel blessed to do what I love every day. And it brings me much joy to see the happiness ‘Rusty Fish’ is creating in so many people’s lives – from the men and women who live among the throw away, the locals who are working with me to create beautiful artworks and the customers who smile each time they see their new unique gift”
By purchasing this artwork you are providing an income and putting food on the table for local families.

Rusty Fish is a certified Social enterprise
A social enterprise is an organization that applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in human and environmental well-being
As a certified social enterprise Rusty Fish is an operator in the social economy whose main objective is to have a social impact rather than make a profit.
A Social enterprise trades to tackle social problems, improve communities, people’s life chances, or the environment. They generate their finances from selling goods and services in the open market, but they reinvest their profits back into the business or the local community. And so when they profit, society profits.
